Pivotal
4-Week Self-Guided Somatic Journey
You function. You manage. You keep moving. From the outside, things look fine and that is part of what makes this so hard to name.
But somewhere along the way, the colour started going out of things. Not dramatically, just quietly, over time, until one day you notice that you’re getting through the days rather than living them. That you feel vaguely numb, or vaguely exhausted, or vaguely unlike yourself and you can’t quite remember when it started.
Pivotal is a four-week, self-guided somatic journey for people who suspect there’s more going on beneath the surface than they’ve been able to reach — through therapy, self-help, or sheer force of will.
A small step. Into a much bigger territory.
When knowing isn’t enough
When trying harder isn’t the answer
You’re smart. Sensitive. Capable. The one who holds everything together. You’ve done the reading. You know what the window of tolerance is. You’ve tried therapy, yoga, breathwork, meditation — and you’ve shown up to all of it with genuine effort.
And yet the insights don’t seem to land anywhere that changes how you actually feel. You understand your patterns. You just can’t seem to move them. The days stay manageable. The grey stays. Here is what nobody tells you about that: it is not a failure of understanding. It is not even a failure of effort. It’s that real change — the kind that reaches into the nervous system, the kind that alters how you actually experience your days — doesn’t happen in a single session, a weekend retreat, or a weekly class. It happens in the small spaces between. In the moment before you respond. In the two minutes at the kitchen window. In what you notice in your body when your phone buzzes with a message you don’t want to receive.
The nervous system doesn’t learn through intensity. It learns through repetition. Through small, consistent moments of something different. Through being shown, again and again, that it is safe to feel more than it currently allows.
When it starts to believe that — when your body becomes a place you can be in rather than something to outrun — something shifts. The capacity for sensation expands. And with it, your capacity to choose. To feel the difference between a yes that comes from truth and a yes that comes from habit or fear. To access the thinking mind not as an escape hatch, but as a genuine guide.
That is when the world begins to open. Not all at once. Quietly, and then unmistakably.
Pivotal exists because your body is not the obstacle. It is the way through.
This isn’t therapy. It’s not yoga as you know it. It’s quieter and more honest than either — four weeks of meeting your body differently. With less force. More presence. And a quality of attention most of us were never taught to offer ourselves.
The Four Layers of Pivotal
Pivotal moves through four elements — each one addressing a different layer of the work, each building gently on the last.
This is not a programme designed to fix you. It is designed to help you feel what is already there — at a pace your nervous system can meet
Earth — Grounding & Safety
You don't need to feel calm. You need to feel here.
We begin by arriving in the body, not the mind. Earth practices build a felt sense of internal steadiness — not through force or willpower, but through simple, repeated gestures of attention. Brief enough to do standing at the kitchen counter. Consistent enough to begin to change something.
For many people, this is the first time in years they’ve felt genuinely settled. Earth teaches what it means to be held — by the ground beneath you, by your own breath, by the deep and reliable rhythm of a nervous system finding its floor.
Fire — Power of Choice
From automatic response to conscious choice.
Many people have spent years — sometimes decades — saying yes when they meant no, out of habit, out of fear, out of conditioning so deep it became invisible. Fire practices help you begin to notice the difference between a response that arises from truth and one that arises from survival.
This is where the work of the previous two weeks starts to matter in daily life. With a more settled nervous system and a wider capacity for sensation, you begin to have genuine access to your own knowing. Not the panicked, survival-driven thinking that fires when you’re dysregulated — but the quieter, clearer cognition that becomes available when your body feels safe enough to let it through.
This is not about becoming more assertive. It is about being able to feel the difference.
Water — Emotional Reconnection
What's been held at arm's length begins to soften.
Numbness is not the absence of feeling. It is feeling that has nowhere safe to go. Water practices create a gentle, paced container for reconnecting with what’s been kept at a distance — grief, longing, rage, joy — not through analysing it, but through noticing where it lives in your body.
As your nervous system becomes more accustomed to sensation, emotion begins to move rather than collect. Water teaches how to let feeling pass through you, rather than brace against it.
Air — Embodied Sovereignty
What it means to belong to yourself.
The final week weaves everything together. Air is about integration: living from inside your own skin, taking up the space that was always yours, speaking from a place that isn’t borrowed from someone else’s expectations of who you should be.
By this point, something will have shifted — not dramatically, and perhaps not in ways you can yet fully name. But the grey will have begun to lift, in small places. You will have begun to trust your body as a source of information rather than a problem to manage.
Not a transformation — a return.
The Four layers of Pivotal
This is not a linear or performance-based journey. Some months will feel quiet. Others may feel tender or alive. You’re invited to move at the pace your nervous system allows, with space to integrate rather than push.
Week 1 — Earth: Grounding & Safety
Arrive in the body. Build the first layer of steadiness. Learn what it feels like to be here.
Week 2 — Water: Emotional Reconnection
Thaw the numbness. Meet feeling — grief, joy, longing, rage — at the pace your nervous system allows.
Week 3 — Fire: Power of Choice
Reclaim agency. Begin to notice where you have been living from survival rather than truth
Week 4 — Air: Embodied Sovereignty
Integrate. Expand. Learn to live from inside your own skin.
Pivotal is self-guided and designed to work in the rhythms of your actual life, not an idealised version of it. Each practice takes ten minutes or less. None of them require a mat, a studio, or a rare window of quiet. You can do them waiting for the kettle, sitting in a parked car, or in the two minutes before a meeting begins.
This is deliberate. Change doesn’t happen in the dedicated hour once a week. It happens in the accumulated moments of paying a different kind of attention. That is what Pivotal is designed to give you: enough small moments, repeated consistently enough, to begin to alter something real.
What's Inside Pivotal
Guided Audio Somatic Practices
A new practice delivered each week — short enough to fit inside a real day. These are not performance-based or push-through practices. They are invitations: to notice, to feel, to return. Grounded in trauma-sensitive yoga (trained with TCTSY) and somatic work, each audio guides you gently into your body at a pace your nervous system can meet.
All recordings are yours to keep and return to beyond the four weeks.
Video Content
Each week opens with a short video — a grounded, honest introduction to the element you’re working with, what it means somatically, and why it matters at this particular threshold of life.
PDF Workbook & Journal Prompts
Gentle, body-led writing invitations to help you track your inner landscape and give language to what you’re noticing. Not a performance journal — a place to listen.
Community Space on Skool
Pivotal is hosted on Skool, a simple platform for courses and community. No app download needed — it works in any browser. Once you enrol, you’ll receive an email with a link to access your course immediately.
You’ll also have access to the open Skool community — a place to share what you’re noticing, ask questions, and feel accompanied, without the intensity of a closed container.
People in the six-month Alchemy programme have access to a private community space. Pivotal members are warmly welcomed into the wider, open community.

What’s included
This Is For You If…
You’ve tried yoga, therapy, breathwork, or meditation — and still feel as though something essential is missing.
You’re going through the motions. Capable, functioning, but a little flat. The colour has gone out of things without you quite noticing when it happened.
You live mostly in your head, and long to feel more grounded, more present, more real to yourself.
Emotions feel closer to the surface — grief, rage, longing — and you’re not sure how to meet them without becoming overwhelmed.
You override your needs daily, even as your body sends increasingly clear signals that it needs something different.
You sense you’re at a threshold — a place where the old ways of coping are no longer enough.
You’re not ready for a six-month commitment. But you are ready to begin.
This Is Not for You If…
You’re looking for a quick fix or a symptom-management tool.
You prefer purely cognitive approaches and aren’t interested in working with the body.
You’re not willing to slow down — even slightly.
You want someone to fix you, rather than to meet yourself differently.
You’re seeking performance, productivity, or optimisation rather than depth, presence, and truth.
Testimonials
-
“Even though I am not in menopause just yet, this course was a great support during a big life transformation for me. Even though the course was online, Soraya created a space of warmth and safety where I was able to get back into connection with my body and my feelings through somatic practices and reflections.”
— Jule
-
“At the time I joined, I felt low in energy and quite stuck. I felt blocked, disconnected from myself, and tired of running into the same inner wall. Through the practices, I realised that real change starts in small moments — not through force, but through awareness and presence.”
— Ayla
-
“My life is busy and I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to fit in the course, but it’s designed really well to fit around a packed schedule. The exercises didn’t take much time at all — but they were powerful and profound. They helped me pepper my day with moments of connection, grounding myself and feeling whatever I was feeling, with far less self-judgement.”
— Mary

“What I love most about working with Soraya is that everything she teaches comes from her own healing journey. Her knowledge of the nervous system and somatic healing, and her ability to translate this into relatable tools and actions, is very powerful. I feel more empowered in expressing myself and showing up more fully in my life.”
— Dawn
-
“But here, I learned my body already knew what to do — I had what I needed within me. With compassion and choice, I began trusting myself, feeling emotions without being destroyed by them, and even releasing trauma without being overwhelmed.”
-
“Movement released so much more for me than sitting in a counselling room. I carried on for years being brave and strong, swallowing down grief and hiding emotion. I felt numb, unable to express what I needed. I learned to notice my body, feel emotion safely, and release what I’d been holding. Now, I feel calmer, more aware of what I truly feel, and I’m discovering a growing inner confidence I never thought possible.”
Sarah
-
“I can easily stay in my head — overthinking and ruminating. This course helped me focus on hearing what my body is saying and letting it take the lead. The four elements gave me a really useful way to understand my nervous system and what is happening in my body.”
— Sally
PIVOTAL
Frequently Asked Questions
-
Pivotal is for people who sense that something beneath the surface — something beyond what therapy, self-help, or willpower has been able to reach — is asking to be addressed. It is particularly well-suited to those who already have some understanding of their patterns, but find that understanding alone hasn’t moved anything. If the insights have landed but the feeling hasn’t, this is for you.
-
A retreat or weekly class can open something, and that matters. But the nervous system doesn’t change through intensity alone. It changes through consistency — through small, repeated moments of something different, woven into the ordinary fabric of daily life. That is what Pivotal is built around: practices short enough to do anywhere, frequent enough to accumulate into real change.
-
Pivotal is not psychotherapy. It is a trauma-informed, body-led programme grounded in somatic practice and trauma-sensitive yoga (TCTSY, originally developed within the organisation of trauma researcher Bessel van der Kolk). It can complement therapy well, but it does not replace clinical mental health treatment.
-
Therapy often works from the top down — through insight, language, and understanding. Pivotal works from the bottom up. It supports nervous system regulation and embodiment, helping you feel what you may already understand intellectually. Many people find they’ve been circling the same insights for years; this work helps those insights finally land in the body, where change actually lives.
-
That's one of the most common things women bring to this work. Everything in Pivotal is invitational and paced. You are never pushed. The practices are designed to be gentle enough that your nervous system doesn't brace against them — which is precisely what makes them effective.
-
Ten minutes or less, per practice. These are designed to be woven into daily life — not requiring a dedicated block of time you have to protect. Integration happens through consistency, not intensity.
-
Everything in Pivotal is self-paced. There is no performance schedule and no catching up required. The materials are yours to work through in the order and rhythm that suits you.
-
It can be. Pivotal is a complete, self-contained journey in its own right. It is also a meaningful first step for anyone who feels drawn to the deeper six-month work of Alchemy but isn’t yet ready for that container. Many people find that four weeks of Pivotal gives them clarity about whether Alchemy is the right next step.
Begin Here
Pivotal won’t transform you in four weeks.
But it will begin to show you what life feels like when your body is no longer the thing you’re running from. When the grey starts to lift — in small places, and then larger ones. When you notice, one ordinary morning, that something has returned.
Four weeks. Four elements. Ten minutes at a time.
If after Pivotal you sense there is deeper work to do — the six-month journey of Alchemy is there. But that is a question for later. For now, this is enough.
